XStandard Toolbar

Most of the visual formatting tasks you'll complete in the editor will be through the XStandard editor toolbar. This topics provides a brief overview of the formatting options you'll find in this toolbar. To learn more about using the XStandard editor, you can read the XStandard Online User's Guide.
You can switch the available toolbar buttons by selecting one of the following options from the pop up menu that appears when you click on the Toolbars button above the editor window.

- Alternate
- Symbols
The content of each toolbard is detailed below.
The default toolbar
The toolbar that sits right above the editor can be used to apply the most common typographic attributes, set some widely used tags and insert tables and images.

This button toggles the view between XML source and WYSIWYG modes | |
This presents the editor's contents as IE would display them. | |

The aternate toolbar
The alternate toolbar introduces the following buttons.

This creates a table used for visual layout rather than for presenting data. Please use it thoughtfully. | |
This button creates a table used for presenting tabular data. | |
This button is used to graphically specify table dimensions for a layout table. | |
This button inserts a text box. By default, this button creates the markup: <div class="textbox"><h5>{heading}</h5><p>{text}</p></div> . |

This button inserts a line. | |
This displays content managed through the editor as a screen reader would process it - in linear fashion. This feature gives authors opportunities to optimize content for accessibility. |

The symbols toolbar
The symbols toolbar give you access to commonly used symbols.
