Translating the User Interface

THESE PAGES ARE STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND DO NOT NECESSARELY REFLECT THE CURRENT VERSION OF TÓPICO

Tópico saves all the individual topic files with a language extension so you can create multilingual collections more easily.

In Tópico when you select "fr" as the collection language, the whole user interface is translated in this language. Tópico currently installs with English and French user interfaces.

You can easily translate the Tópico user interface to your own language by editing the file topico.lng.xml that's found in the main program folder (typically c:program files\formedia\topico).

Selecting a language that is not available for the user interface from the collection language drop down list will load the default English user interface.

If you translate the %program_name% user interface to your own language, make sure you add the "two letter" language code defined in the ISO-639 standard to the file topico.ini.xml.

Tip

Please note that if you translate the %program_name% user interface to your own language and would like to share your work with other Tópico users, we can provide you with an Excel file in which you'll be able to add your translation. We'll then include it with later versions of Tópico along will full credit to you.
