Upgrading Existing Collections
THESE PAGES ARE STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND DO NOT NECESSARELY REFLECT THE CURRENT VERSION OF TÓPICO
While your collection master and individual source files are upgraded to the latest version of Tópico when the program opens an older collection, the templates, scripts and stylesheets associated with your collection cannot be upgraded that easily.
This means that you'll have to update these files (your custom publishing package) manually to include new features found in more recent versions of Tópico.
Each significant release of Tópico will include information on the steps you might want to take to upgrade your existing collections.
Upgrading existing collections to version 2009.04xx
One of the positive side effects of using a standard XML stack for the system is that if you have an older collection, it should still publish fine with this version of Tópico.
All older collections are be upgraded automatically by Tópico when they're open. An upgrade progress windows is visible when a collection is being upgraded.
While the main collection file (master map file) is upgraded, the templates and stylesheets you're using in the publishing process aren't. These files will need to be upgraded to take advantage of new template parameters and other publishing options.
Checkout the sample templates and stylesheets in the default collection folder. These files should be enough to guide you through upgrading you owns.
