In this tutorial, you'll learn how to publish your collection to the HTML Help format, this Help format is used by Microsoft Windows. Requires the professional edition of Tópico
Here are a few advantages publishing the HTML Help format offers:
- Single file distribution;
- Integrate search engine.
The drawback would be that this format is not readable by other computer platforms (Mac, Linux, ...)
This tutorial requires the Microsoft Microsoft HTML Help Workshop
software to be installed on your computer. You can ge the program for free from the Microsoft web site.
Publish your collection to HTML Help
To publish your collection to the HTML Help format, follow these steps:
- Select the Publishing tab and the the HTML Help sub tab (see the image below);
- Write the file name you want to use (without the file extension);
- Write the name of the template and the stylesheet used to publish the HTML files;
- Click the button.
Once you've published your collection to HTML Help, you can open the file (ex.: user_guide.chm) that's found in the collection's online folder.
