In this tutorial, you'll learn how to add links to your topics. You can add links to other topics in the collection or any web page on the internet.
Adding links to your topics is what makes your collection more useful and easier to navigate. You'll see that Tópico provides you with many time saving features to add hyperlinks to your topics.
Let's create a simple link to another topic in the collection.
Manually add a link to another topic in the collection
To add a link manually, select the link text and click on the link toolbar buttonat the top of the editor to insert the target file name in the URL field of the Hyperlink Properties dialog.
If your plan is to publish to HTML, which is most likely, enter the name of the "published" target file, which is the "id" of the topic plus the ".html" extension.
To create a link to a file with the identifier "my_topic", you would enter "my_topic.html".
Add a link to another topic the easy way
To facilitate this process, you can get a copy of the target file name for any topic through the tree view.
- Right click on the target topic in the tree view;
- From the popup menu, select ;
- Select the link text in your current topic;
- Click on the link button in the toolbar;
- Press Ctrl+V to paste the target file name in the href attribute;
- Click .
Add a link to another topic the easiest way
Registered users can also select
from the popup menu for even faster results! When you add a link this way, the selected text is used for the link. If no text is selected, the target topic nav title is used as the link text.Add a link to any web page
Using the manual method outlined above, type the URL of the web page you want to link to.
